blog image I was hired to do the voiceover work for the audio version of Yoga for Back Pain and as I started the narration, I found myself drawn into the book and the wonderful concepts presented there to ease not only back pain in general, but for lower back pain and neck pain as well! These exercises for back pain are phenomenal! Anyone looking for relief from back pain and or neck pain needs to turn away from the medicine cabinet and pick up a copy of the book Yoga for Back Pain.

I never considered yoga for lower back pain, which has been my problem. But Joy's book really explains these exercises for relieving back pain in a way that anyone can understand. This is a user friendly book for anyone looking to use yoga as their exercise of choice for relieving backaches and other pain. There are so many companies that offer all sorts of remedies for back pain, but I havent found anything that makes as much sense as Yoga for Back Pain.

If youre suffering from back pain, you have to buy this book; then get out your mat and start on the path to pain-free living!

Yoga For Back Pain New Bag, New Back!

blog image The Healthy Back Bag is the world's first "backbag". Designed to ease the back pain experienced by one in three UK adults, it has both style and health in mind. A feat of ergonomic design, the one-strap backbag contours to the natural curve of the spine and makes a heavy load feel significantly lighter.

The Healthy Back Bag does for bags what the likes of Birkenstock and Crocs have done for footwear in making it cool to be comfortable.

About The Healthy Back Bag Company

Developed with the help of a chiropractor and a doctor, The Healthy Back Bag's patented teardrop design efficiently distributes weight across key touchpoints through the length of the whole bag. This differs from standard shoulder bags which pull from one point on the shoulder. The result is to vastly reduce stress to the back, shoulders and neck. The backbag can be carried on either shoulder, across the back or across the chest, always allowing easy access to the inside without having to take the backbag off. The 'non-slip' strap lining prevents the annoying slippage common to most shoulder bags.

Every backbag features smart and inventive details, from the clever compartments, key hook and branded zipper pulls through to the signature silver lining that makes for stress-free rummaging.
Priscilla Chase, UK director of

The Healthy Back Bag Company explains the idea behind the backbag: 'All of us often need to carry heavy loads, but until now this meant putting up with stress and strain to our backs. Now anyone can use a bag designed with a sound medical rationale that looks good too.'

Yoga For Back Pain How Yoga Got Rid Of My Back Pain
Posted on Sat, 28 Mar 2009 00:10:14 by Joy Anderson

blog image For as long as I've been in the fitness industry, I've always put off trying yoga because it looked like it was just stretching, and I never really saw anyone that was truly fit doing it.

It wasn't until I tried the P90X power Yoga DVD that I became hooked! I loved how intense it was and how I was stretching, elongating and
strengthening muscles didn’t normally work. The core twisting postures felt as if they were releasing any impingements in my hips and lower back. The balance postures help me tackle an area of my fitness that I had never really tapped into… Isometric exercises and working on balance.

I had herniated a disc back in August of 2007 while training for one of my upcoming motorcycle races. I got relief after some Inversion and chiropractic treatments. I still felt little twinges here and there on occasion that just let me know I wasn't out of the woods with my back pain.

It wasn't until I started doing Yoga that I noticed the occasional twinges going away. I can abuse my back to no end with my training and motorcycle riding as long as I do yoga 1 - 2x per week in conjunction to my normal workout program.

I'm a big believer in Yoga as the one way to stay back pain free. I've been a personal trainer for 10 years and I've finally been grabbed by the Yoga bug. I love power yoga and I've recently begun doing Bikram Yoga. I love it. It's not as intense as power Yoga but just stretching in the 103 degree room helps you become even more and more limber. I actually wore my heart rate monitor last time I was in there and I averaged 140 beats per minute during the 90 minute class.

Yoga is a great addition to my current strenuous workouts. I don't think that anyone who practices yoga 2x per week could have back pain. The
flexibility
and strength that it gives you in your hips, lower back and muscles is incredible. I also agree with Joy that there's nothing better for healing the body of muscle imbalances. I've identified many imbalances in my hips and these would have certainly caused me great pain and injury in the future.

As the owner of a personal training company that serves the Maryland, Washington DC, and Northern Virginia area www.achieve-fitness.com I've been recommending yoga to all of our clients and trainers.
